Orange Mousse

Masala Idli


Ingredients:

Idli -3
Big onion -1 finely chopped
Ginger - 1 small piece chopped
Garlic -1  small piece chopped
Green chilly- 1 chopped
Tomato -1/2 chopped
Tomato ketchup-1tsp
Kashmiri Chilly pdr- 1/2 tsp
Turmeric pdr -1/4 tsp
Garam masala-1/4 tsp
Lemon juice - 1/2 lemon
Salt - as required
Vegetable Oil - as required

Method:

1.Cut the idlis into small pieces.
2.Heat vegetable oil in a pan and add the idli pieces.
3.Shallow fry the idli pieces.
4.After frying the idlis,pour some more oil into the same pan and add onion ,ginger,garlic and green chillies.Add salt to taste(Don't forget that the  idlis are already cooked with salt).
5.Saute until onion turns light brown.
6.Add the tomato pieces and saute again.
7.Once they are cooked add the kashmiri chilly powder,turmeric powder and garam masala. Saute until their raw smell disappears.Add little water if required.
8.Now add the tomato sauce .
9.Next add the idli pieces and mix well .
10.Add 1/2 cup of water and reduce the heat.Cover and cook until all the water is absorbed and the masalas are coated well on idli pieces.
11.Finally,add the lemon juice and mix.
12.Switch off the heat and keep it covered for two more minutes.

Tasty masala idli is ready  to serve.

Notes
  • If the idlis are soft,you can skip the frying  idlies step.
